Dr. Belaustegui, known as “Dr. B” to her patients, is a native Reno optometrist who graduated with honors from the University of Nevada, Reno. She was one of two Western Interstate Commission recipients of the Higher Education scholarship to pursue her optometric career. Dr. Belaustegui completed the doctorate program from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2008 as a recipient of the Pacific University Optometric School Dean’s scholarship and as a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. B chose to extend her education and accepted a residency program, working and studying under the ophthalmologists at Eye Care Associates of Nevada in Reno and Las Vegas. Through this residency program, she obtained an exceptional understanding of the surgical procedures and the pre/post-operative care required. She was also able to get glaucoma certification as a Nevada eye doctor.
Dr. Belaustegui worked in private practices for several years until she purchased Central Nevada Vision in 2012. While greatly enjoying primary care, Dr. Belaustegui is a Reno eye doctor that is enthusiastic about augmenting her practice and providing a rural community with specialized glaucoma care and surgical co-management. Dr. B takes pride in being a Reno eye doctor who creates a warm atmosphere and allocates enough time and good communication with every patient.
When she’s not practicing, Dr. Belaustegui enjoys spending time with her animals, especially her three-legged dog, Rocky. Nevada has kept Dr. Belaustegui in the area with all it offers in mountain sports and beautiful scenery. You can often find her in the outdoors when not hard at work.
