Dr. Mary Ann Ellement grew up in San Diego and completed her undergraduate degree in Nutrition Science at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. She then studied and completed her Doctorate in Optometry at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, School of Optometry.
Dr. Ellement grew up bilingual and is fluent in Spanish. During her studies in Puerto Rico, she was able to refine her comprehensive eye exams in both English and Spanish. As a part of her doctorate program, she completed clinical rotations at the Veterans Affairs clinic in Gainesville, Florida and at a private practice in Plano, Texas.
Clinically, Dr. Ellement is interested in ocular surface diseases and specialty contact lenses. When she’s not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, in the beauty of the outdoors.
